The longest running theater is the Carolina Opry which has been wowing Grand Strand visitors for over 23 years and has won almost every tourism award. The theater offers 4 shows, the original Carolina Opry, Christmas Special, Good Vibrations, and Come see the Light. The original Carolina Opry show has won many awards and is always a favorite of both tourists and locals. The Christmas show features classic Christmas songs missed with great comedy. The Good Vibrations show featuring music from the 60s, 70s, and 80s has become a new crowd favorite. Come see the Light is a premier laser light show. Located next door to the Opry is Dolly Pardon’s Dixie Stampede, one of 2 dinner shows in the area. The Stampede offers both a year round show as well as Christmas special. The show includes incredible horseback riding as well as games where participants from each side (North and South) of the audience go against each other in a friendly battle. The other dinner show in Myrtle Beach is Medieval Times. The show features a meal served by wenches and a tournament between 6 medieval knights.
The Palace Theatre at Broadway at the Beach has numerous shows throughout the year. The theatre’s main is Le Grand Cirque, a show full of incredible talent, amazing costumes, and classic rock music for a show like no other. Also running year round at the Palace in the Kings Suite is the Magical Spirit of Ireland show. Throughout the upcoming year the Palace will be running a series of Broadway shows for a limited time. These shows include Hairspray and I Love You Your Perfect, Now Change.
